This Week in America with Ric Bratton (January 15, 2015)
Ric Bratton invited John back to his syndicated talk show this time to discuss John's previous novel, A CALL TO COLORS: a Novel of the Battle of Leyte Gulf. As always Ric was a wonderful host and offered a great opportunity for listeners to learn about this work of historical fiction featuring history's greatest sea battle.

This Week in America (October 21)
On October 21, 2014, John was honored to be on This Week in America with Ric Bratton. While the radio show is yet to air, the studio recording is available right now on YouTube. Watch the video below.
U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) Men’s Glee Club visits Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach, California, singing the Navy Hymn and the Battle Hymn of the Republic
In 2017, yours truly was able to get into my church which has a capacity of about 1,100. It was a sell-out crowd; the place was packed.
I sneaked up to the front row which, for some reason, was nearly empty. Thus, I was able to record these fine young men close up with an unobstructed view.
Dr. Aaron Smith, Director, Musical Activities Chairman, USNA Music Department is the one here who briefly introduces the Navy Hymn (Eternal Father) and the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Amazing. Two of my favorites. How can you go wrong? In my entre lifetime, I never thought I would have such an opportunity; but here it was. Carpe diem.
And as you watch, please recall that almost all these midshipmen have since graduated and now serve in our Fleet. I’m told this performance is a public service so it’s here for all of us to enjoy.
